An
Invitation
for You to
heal
your roots
and bring into embodiment the beautiful wisdom and medicine of your ancestors, cultures, and lands.
A Space for You to Heal
Reviving our Roots is a three-month journey where we will gather to learn, unlearn, and heal.
Together, you will remember and revitalize your roots by connecting to your body, your core, and your lands so you can call forth the ancient wisdom of your ancestors. This is a trauma-informed container where we invite you to embody the ancient mysteries of your ancestors and lands.
Held by Mona and Sepideh, this program includes 8 recorded virtual sessions (held on Tuesdays from 12 – 2pm ET), a supportive community on Circle, and a live retreat in Egypt in September.
Reviving Our Roots Is For You If
You want to decolonize your spirituality.
You want to deepen your connection to your lineage and motherland.
You want to heal the cultural trauma cycle of your lineage.
You want to reclaim the ancient mysticism and spirituality of the SWANA lands from New Age Spirituality.
You are ready to connect and embody your power and ancestral medicine.
You want to heal the toxic patriarchy and connect with the Sacred Masculine.
You are from the SWANA region.
You are looking for SWANA community who are rooted in liberation and spiritual practices.
Are you ready
to reclaim and revive your roots?
Are you feeling burnt out from the New Age Spiritual and Wellness community?
Are you feeling disappointed and disillusioned by the people you called teachers, guides, mentors?
Do you feel like you have to code-switch?
Do you feel like even in BIPOC spaces there is no real understanding and witnessing of your particular experience and process?
Are you looking for teachers and mentors that are embodied in the ancient wisdom and spiritual mysticism of the SWANA lands?
Are you looking for a space that can help you transform your rage and grief?
Are you tired of hiding your power and voice?
Are you looking for a community of SWANA folks who are committed to both personal and collective transformation?
Reviving Our Roots was Created Because…
Those of us from the SWANA region carry a pain of separation that is unique to our experience, as many of us witness our homelands being devastated by predatory energies.
Many of you are unable to return because of unsafe political conditions, economic instability, and/or war. You experience ongoing trauma that is rooted in your nervous system as the freedom and future of your homelands are perpetually at the mercy of Western governments.
Reviving Our Roots was created because there is a pressing need for people from the SWANA region to be held, seen, and heal from patriarchal and colonial harm.
◆
You hold the power, potency & ancient wisdom of the SWANA lands and your lineage in your blood, bones & DNA.
◆
Those of you with the capacity and capability to do the deep work of remembering and reclaiming your roots have a privilege and a responsibility to do so.
It is only through reviving your roots that you can understand your true power and medicine. As the Earth and the collective awaken to the illusion of separation woven by the predatory forces, the lands of the SWANA region are simultaneously awakening to both their ancient and their new energies.
Those of you from these ancient lands and cultures need to do the work of reclaiming your power to help manifest a new way of being. Patriarchy and organized religion have distorted the ancient wisdom of your ancestors.
Your body is your home. It already carries the codes and keys for you to remember who you are and where you come from—you just need to activate them. The ongoing traumas of your people and your lands make it especially challenging to access this vital internal information. Those of you living in the diaspora have an additional barrier: You are completely cut off from the lands that hold their own crucial activations, spiritual and ancestral truths that you crave and need. This is by design—it’s a way for the predatory energies to control you. When you are cut off from your roots, you are cut off from your power.
Reviving Our Roots is a pathway to reclaiming these elemental birthrights.

Program
Facilitators
Reviving Our Roots has been lovingly created and curated by Mona and Sepideh, both of whom are from the SWANA region.
Mona, who is from the lands of Egypt, currently resides there and brings her Egyptian ancestry.
Sepideh, who is from the lands of present-day Iran, has lived in diaspora most of her life and brings her Iranian and Turkish ancestry.
Mona
Abutaleb
Mona is a weaver of webs in her work with clients one on one as well as in group facilitation.
She always sees the potential of connection and collaboration in what she observes, and lets that perspective move her in her work and the ways she moves through the world. She trusts and believes that healing always happens in community, no matter how hyper-individuated society gets. What moves her is curiosity and a belief that ancient wisdom is held within our bodies and that by using practices guided by the wisdom of our bodies, we can actively heal and bring the collective back to a place of harmony. She does this through earth and body-based practices, an exploration of archetypal work, and elemental shadow work.
Mona owes her practice and “work” to her ancestors before her, her immigrant family, and the teachers she’s had the privilege to learn from in this life. As a Somatic Therapist, her practice focuses on touch and the power of co-regulation and safety that can happen from being in contact with another. Again, healing happens in community.
Mona has recently returned to the land of her ancestors in Cairo, Egypt, diving deeper into the wisdom held within the culture and ancestral lands.
Sepideh
Hakimzadeh
Sepideh is a visionary, holds space that facilitates healing, and a mother. Her work meets at the intersection of animism, liberation, and love.
She weaves the threads of devotion of the land, body, and ancient wisdom in her 1:1 and group work. She is a devotee of the Great Mother, in service of liberating the heart and womb and our connection to the Earth. She believes deeply in the possibility of creating a new paradigm that brings back a long lost balance to the Earth and all the beings seen and unseen.
Sepideh is a trained psychotherapist in archetypal and relational psychology. She has a background in yoga, dance, bodywork, somatics, and animism. She currently lives with her son, husband, mother, and cat in the sacred lands of the Munsee Lenape and Schaghticoke also known as Rhinebeck NY, in the Hudson Valley.

Revive your roots and
Reclaim Your
Ancestral
Wisdom
Reviving Our Roots is an intentional space created for us to gather, learn, unlearn, and heal together.
We weave together the threads of our different ancestries and cultures in honor of the thousands of years that our borders were fluid and our lands welcomed a variety of cultures, trade, and ways of worship.
We invite you to step through this portal with us to revive your roots and reclaim your ancestral wisdom.
